Hmm now what... noob with a 400D and a....

Unfortunately its not mine and I will have to give them back. Not sure when though, gonna hold on to it for as long as possible.

Wasnt gonna post anything, but

As long as it wasn't a 5D2, a 24-70L, or a 135L you remain off my ignore list :p

made me lol. Colleague has 3 lenses....

20-35 L
24-70 L
70-200 L

My 70-200 was like this when i purchased it 2nd hand, i got some of that antistatic foam cleaner sprayed in the lid and swabbed it clean, i figured it would do the least amount of tarnishing to the rubber and its still jet black now several months later.

Buy some surgical spirit from the chemist or somewhere. Cleans everything, handy too.

Thanks for the tips :)

The 20-35 was introduced as one of the original L zooms in '89ish. It's the wide version of the 80-200.

It's a very nice lens and probably has the best colours I have ever seen in a lens. I actually wanted one but the lack of USM is off putting.

It's assumed the USM wasnt used since 20-35mm has a small focus travel.

It was later replaced by the impressive 17-35mm before the 16-35mkI then mkII.

The other similar lenses are the 80-200 in 89 then 70-200 in 97ish.

24-70 was a replacement for the 28-70.

Some lens facts there!!
