on one hand id have a better amount of faster memory

other id have faster cpu and maybe upgrade mem with another 2gb arghh dunno what to do

do the 955 and the 720 work in that board straight out the box with no bios update ?

Whatever you do, get 4GB of memory, 2GB would be nuts (no matter what CPU you get) and you'll be chucking it out (selling it or upgrading) very shortly after purchase, can't you save up a little more?

q8200 + Asus P5Q Turbo + 4GB Kingston = £242
id say u might geta very slight boost in performance

I really would try to go for the quad-core... Can you save up a little bit longer, to make your purchase worthwhile? Or maybe consider buying second hand?

Personally I'd go for a Q9450 - decen't OCing and lots of cache, a P43 or P41 board or so unless you need the extra features... tho right now due to lack of stock availability on RAM at OcUK and needing a cooler for the CPU as the ones in stock are OEM it would push it a little above £240 - personally I'd reccomend the OCZ Blades for RAM if you can stretch to them.

LGA775 has another 2 years of support from Intel which is as good as your gonna get anyhow in this day and age...

Go with the second option (I just got that ram and its not green, its black) you can always add more ram. And I got that motherboard :D Very nice heatsinks on it.
