I think you might want to refer it to his boss. Ask him if he thinks that's acceptable build quality, and he would be happy if it was his purchase.
I originally bought a Hazro whatever model back in Jan 2012 the glass front one, had it replaced due to glass falling off same year to a non glazed model which was tbh pretty damned good.
Unfortunately the power blew last October on the replacement was told to contact Hazro by OCUK, Hazro never replied after tons of emails fast forward 2 months I send a complaint to OCUK via webnote.
They arrange pick up next day and do the RMA for me, little over 2 weeks later I lose patience and just buy an Asus 1440p monitor which is stunning.
Jan 9th 2014 over 3 months after original monitor failed, I take delivery of a newer model Hazro as my older monitor was beyond repair I assume wasn't actually told, Thought it was pretty nice of OCUK to do this, received the new monitor and was planning on selling it on since it was surplus to requirements set it up for a buyer to view it and well, it's an absolute disgrace, buyer and I were in stitches laughing at how poor the quality of this screen was.... Learned a hard lesson there, Open and check stuff on delivery rather than selling sealed.
Obviously losing patience I sent a webnote complaint regarding this and a week later this afternoon I'm told in a nutshell by an assistant returns manager to deal with it, "backlight bleed on this screen isnt classed as a fault due to the new edge LED technology to what the majority of screens use nowadays".
I guess the assistant manager was too busy trying to 1-0 me with flowcharts from the office of fair trading regarding my complaint making it sound like I'm in the wrong for complaining and they don't have to do anything for me and forgot that this monitor is not satisfactory quality is not fit for purpose and isn't as described.
Was given the our only option is to partial refund of what your old monitor is now worth card.
Shame because I would have took my old monitor over this any-day, this monitor is absolute garbage and I feel sorry for people that choose this over a Asus or Dell for only 80-100 quid extra.
Overall absolutely disgusting level of customer service from OCUK, Zero empathy, no apologies having to wait such a long time and a very uninformative meh reply to my complaint that was obviously not treated seriously.
I'm a senior customer service rep for a massive company dealing exclusively with business customers, If I had treated one of our customers complaints like this I'd be getting a serious dressing down by my manager right now.
Awaiting a call back from trading standards to take this further, which I can't believe I'm having to resort to over a poxy monitor.
edit- it's a replacement monitor minsta so for some reason rules and returns don't seem to apply to me.
