There is a small alleyway from our back door to our backyard.
We wish to cover this with a corrugated clear plastic roof, How Do I seal the sheets against the wall ?

It would be touching a wall on 3 sides, 1 of which would have the corrugated profile.

Do you just use flashing tape or similar ?
If so how Do I go about making a neat job as the sheeting i would use would most likely be clear to allow maximum light through.

You can buy self adhesive flashing.

Better to use 10mm or 16mm Twin wall polycarbonate, much stronger, higher impact resistant, easier to seal in my opinion.
You can get edge Glazing Bars for the polycarbonate sheet, some come with a blanking strip, or you can cut a strip from a sheet, & use sealant to secure & seal.

You might much cheaper, but I can't find my link.

I fitted twin wall at last place over a back porch, had a look at the old place, & it still there after 13 years.

This!

I would never use corrugated plastic it gets brittle very quickly and will need repairs/replacing every couple of years!

That stuff looks fine.
Could I just use clear silicon sealant to seal it to the brickwork ?
IMO this would be a much tidier solution providing it works.
How is this stuff attached to the wood it sits on ?
Do you use the same method that you would use for
Corrugated plastic sheeting, Ie screws with rubber washers around to seal ?

Where is cheapest place to buy the twin wall stuff.
I need to measure up tonight but I reckon alleyway is perhaps a meter and a half wide and probably need a sheet 3 to 4 meters long :)

youll find it wont leak if its under the roofline/guttering just butt it up next to the wall, mine doesn't leak without any flashing

but its sitting ontop of a wooden baton screwed to the wall

10mm twinwall polycarbonate, you obtain the sheets in various widths from around 700mm to 2100mm, & length from 2mtrs to around 7mtrs.

16mm is triplewall polycarbonate, is available in same size as the 10mm twinwall.

Size do varies between manufacturers though.

Top of the sheet you seal with a solid tape, & seal the bottom of the sheet with 'anti dust tape'
25mm width for 10mm (Twin Wall) & 38mm width for 16mm (Triple Wall).
The tape stops dirt, insect getting inside the sheet.

Don't know the area you covering, but you may need a 'Snap On Glazing Bar' give a neat waterproof join between sheets.

Wickes Polycarbonate guide give you some useful advice.

Truelypvc at Ashton-Under-Lyne are probably the cheapest place in the area for polycarbonate sheeting & relevant bits, they had a trade counter, would need to phone to confirm.
