That'll take any Germans old enough back a bit. Probably not as colourful though.
Stayed in, ate some party food from marks and Spencers with the misses. She got drunk I drunk some water and a cheeky can of coke. In bed by 1am. How times have changed! I'd still be out partying now about 5-6 years ago!

Been ill with man flu since boxing day, so was in bed by 10 last night. 1st time ever I've not stayed up.

Happy new year folks.
I stayed in - I have a nice little terrace of the building I live in , so went out 5 mins before to see the fireworks , it was quite nice. At 12:05 made me a hot water bottle and was under the covers.

Bit of a washout this year, missus wanted to go to Edinburgh for the Hogmanay street party.
Booked it a few weeks ago and paid an extortionate amount for a hotel and booked the train so I could have a few drinks without worrying about being over the limit the next day.
Train got cancelled a few days before and because it was on an Avanti service they couldn’t let me on the other services unless I shelled out yet again so opted to go in the car
Then street party got cancelled but hotel was non refundable so we went anyways as we had a couple of restaurants booked so we thought we’d enjoy just a nice couple of days , except the weather was atrocious, got soaked through on the afternoon and was frozen so ended up back at the hotel to warm up and change clothes, the room was a contender for worst room I’ve ever paid to stay in.
Had a half decent night out but a lot of places said ticket only entry so just had a few in a Wetherspoons and a few in a pub close to the hotel.
Just got back now after getting soaked again as my missus wanted photos of her I front of the castle while it snowed , except the snow turned to sleet
Did a little bit of shopping then went for food and started driving home , got halfway before realising we had left the shopping in the restaurant so had to go back again hahah.

Cityrooms
Lift was broken but luckily we were on 1st floor
Room was tiny, shower was so small you couldn’t turn round or move arms about to clean yourself ,also door wasn’t attached to the bottom rail
The curtains had half an inch of dust on them , we were scared to move them in case we caused a dust cloud in the room
All the furniture was damaged or worn though to the Mdf/chipboard , there was a funky smell of stale kebabs on the 1st floor which was still there this morning
Unfortunately as the missus decided so late that she wanted to go we didn’t have many options for hotels as most were too expensive
