Holden Ute - How would one go about getting one?

oh god dont start

the ozzies are bad enough for this as it is. Wander in the wrong supporters section of the bathurst and its like being a leeds fan in the middle of the millwall supporters section.

True story: I arrived at my guest house in Bathurst and parked my Falcon XR6 rental car beside a Holden HSV Commodore.

The next morning myself and my girlfriend found ourselves having breakfast at the same table as the owner of said Commodore. Who completely and utterly blanked us. Eventually, his wife/partner plucked up the courage to ask my girlfriend if she'd travelled far and how she'd got here. The second he found out it was infact not my Falcon but belonged to Hertz, he became the nicest person in the universe and said that he couldnt bring himself to talk to Ford owners.

Brilliant, I love the 'fanboyism' the Aussies have going on with their cars.

He was wearing loads of Holden clothes as well - over there you wear a Holden or a Ford racing shirt in the same way you'd wear a football shirt over here.

Burger King, sorry Hungry Jacks in Bathurst is completely decked out with photos of Holden and Ford racing cars.

It's so cool.

Well I've spoken to Ken at Walkinshawperformance.

They basically order a new model, built to your spec. It takes roughly 9 months in total. Apparently they don't have them waiting around, they are built brand new.

This also means a no no to getting a 1-2 year old model imported. They don't do that. :(

Price. Well he said to me 37.5k, but stupidly I didn't ask was that AUS dollars or GB pounds. I assume, it'll be pounds??? Which is a hell of a lot of dosh, when if you look on net you can pick them up for around $25k!

I honestly didn't think it would be that much, that's crazy!
