Holiday camera help

I recently went to Morocco and carried around a 20D with a 17-40L; it wasn't heavy and didn't get in the way.
Put it over your shoulder and you'll be fine :)

A few years ago I had two pairs of running shorts, that I'd just purchased, snatched from under my arms in Tangiers. If I ever go to Morocco again and carried an expensive camera I'd have it bolted to my shoulder! :)

I walked route a very busy souk in Marrakech with a 300D coupled up to a 24-70 L and 420EX flash, Nobody batted an eyelid. We went down some right dodgey looking alleys too, people just wanted me to take their picture then give them money!

If you're looking for a small camera that you can stick in your pocket, but still take goot snaps, I've just got a casio exilim Z1000.

Nice little camera, 10 megapixels, huge screen on the back, massive battery life, the movie recording is really high quality, plus its a really fast camera. Turning on, shutter response, viewing photos. Its also very easy to use as a point and shoot, or you can go more into depth with some of the settings if you want. Plus in black its quite a good looking bit of kit.

I couldn't imagine going on holiday with a great big SLR
