Hollow Skirting Board

Not that I know of. 1 option would be to route a groove in the skirting for cables and use number plate sticky pads to stick it to the wall tho your skirting and walls would have to be straight

Why don't you fix the trunking first then the skirting above, you can chop say 2" off the bottom of the skirting

Marshall Tufflex Sovereign Plus is a 75mm Skirting for cable management, not cheap though.

As already mention, I have used mdf skirting for jobs, where I have routed a rebate to accommodate some cables, another job where I fitted some trunking to the wall, then had to rebate some skirting to fit over it.:(

There are several firm making skirting for cables like Profilpas, & Kinele, their skirting is brilliant, it's available in many colours, again not cheap.

You could try tracking the plaster at floor level maybe 20-30mm or so then fix your skirting over the top of it. You'd never see it but wouldn't be handy if you needed to take it on & off frequently.

Why not screw/glue some packing pieces on to the wall horizontally but leave the packing pieces an inch or so low from the top. Run your cables in then just make a drop in top that can pop out anytime you desire? That way your skirting will be tight back to the wall due to screwing, Can fill in screw holes, paint etc. Just a thought.

Fit new skirting boards and get a rebate cut in the back of the board to hide cables. You can buy boards with this pre-cut.

Easier than messing about any other way and the end result will look great.

Not overly expensive and not a difficult job imo.

I think it is more about the ease of adding new wires whilst maintaining the looks. Our new house is being redone completely, so this is our chance to plan for the future and think of as many things as possible.

All subsequent walls with an external mitre would require the same packing method even if no cables were being installed as the skirting board distance from the wall would be different
