"There hasn't been any contact yet but I am available as a free agent," McLeish told Sky Sports News.

What must his CV look like?!....constantly losing his job for not being good enough. Now I have no love for Palace, but I don't want this dinosaur to get another job. Go for someone who has earned it!

Looks like Chris Coleman is favourite now.

Newcastle's Alan Pardew 'interested' in Crystal Palace manager's job

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is a shock inclusion on the list of managerial targets for his rock-bottom former club Crystal Palace.

The Londoners were initially expecting to hire an out-of-work manager to succeed Ian Holloway - who stepped down last week - in order to speed up the process.

But now they are understood to have been alerted to Pardew’s interest by an intermediary.

Palace chairman Steve Parish has publicly stated that he would prefer to hire a manager with links to the club.

Pardew, 52, played 130 games for the club and famously scored the last-minute goal that beat Liverpool in the 1990 FA Cup semi-finals.

He still has a house in Surrey and is thought to be weighing up the pros and cons of leaving the Geordies, who were knocked out of the League Cup on Wednesday by Manchester City.

It's the Mirror, but I choose to believe.

he's from Glasgow so Fergie will be on a phone to someone recommending him for the job..... wonder what cut of the wages he gets as a fee for his recommendation.

Coleman to Palace, Pulis to Wales. Everybody is happy.

Except the Palace fans who get an inept manager to steer them to relegation.

Actually, I would like to change my comment...whilst you could never say that moving to a struggling Championship club from a Premiership club is 'moving on to bigger and better things' in a footballing sense, I have to agree that moving from Palace to any club is 'moving on to bigger and better things' in reality:)

Recovered that well :) but maybe he thought why not save a year and move to a struggling championship club now rather than get relegated and then being in such a situation next year ;)

Did well to keep us up, but this season has been terrible. Went 5 unbeaten at the start of the season but that was more down to the other sides not being able to finish, against Watford at home they should have been 5-0 up before half time but hit the bar and post twice I think and missed some good chances, we nicked that with a great goal by Tom Ince (who has been poor this season). Against Barnsley we didn't have a shot on target and won because of an Own goal from Jack Robinson's long throw in the last minute. Now our luck has run out and it's showing.

He's playing a 4-5-1 with Fuller, who has been excellent all season with holding the ball up, but lacks any support from the other players as they are told to be more rigid and just stay a flat 5. Tom Ince just get double marked most games and because we are set up to defend, nobody runs past him to drag one of them away. The fact that almost every game someone is suspended doesn't help, though he says there is nothing wrong with the discipline at the club, when Ince is the worst of the lot. We also play players out of position.
