Door light failed this morning

"Stopped because an error was encountered at February 11, 2026 at 5:43:44 AM (runtime 23.43 seconds)

Failed to send request: device did not respond"

That's at the turning on the light step off the automation.

How do you diagnose further?

The light would not turn on manually within HA.
I physically turned the light switch off and on and the light started working again.

Just when you think it's all working it breaks again.

I had this as I still had the hue hub connected and it was interfering with it for some reason.

No hub here. Honestly starting to regret the whole automation thing. Some things do just work but others seem so buggy.

Edit: did it again this morning. Might try restarting the ZigBee coordinator and HA tonight see if that fixes anything.

I know ZigBee devices such as plugs act as routers, but is that rotting dynamic or static ie of my build is routed via a plug and you unplug that plug does the routing change? Is it always adjusting and updating?

cant get bottlecap daves octpus energy intergration to load after an update.... all help gratefully appreciatted
I noticed that sensor values had frozen since a couple of days ago. I powered off/on the Octopus Mini and and did a restart of HA and it seems to have sorted it.

no ive done all that... just keeps telling me it couldnt load up
Hmm, afraid I can't spot any similar reports. Is it installed via HACS? There's a re-download option in HACS and (if it gets that far) the integration has options for reconfigure / download diagnostics. Good luck!

For BMW owners..

Nice intergration Github Link

If you have an EV it can bring uo charging details, i'm also pretty sure you can organise your charging times with it also..

I use it to turn on lights, tv etc when I pass through a zone a min or so from my home, if you do use it, the recommendation is to check every item in the BMW connected data page..

For me, it loaded 56 sensors, two of which I use. Location for home or away and tyre pressure..

I'm using a similar integration for my Skoda EV.
I control charging times with it (due to the way Skoda have implemented their charging handshake, it cannot be done from the charger side, which I would have preferred).
I also have a small HA dashboard in my hallway by the front door & have a few bits of car info on that, such as range remaining, if the car's plugged in, if the doors are locked etc. It also allows me to turn on/off the remote clmate & lock/unlock the doors. Just a bit easier than having to grab the car keys to grab something left in the car, or to disconnect the charging cable etc.

How have a only just noticed the ZigBee Visualization Map.
Does it constantly adjust as devices go offline and new ones get added.
Does it improve resilience of devices show more than one route back to the coordinator.
