So my questions is basically, whats the best/easiest way to get the new hardware setup? I use the Google drive addon for backups, so 1 option is to use Balena etcher to flash the HAOS image onto the SSD in the new Optiplex then load a backup. Or could I simply pop my current SSD into the Optiplex or would that not work? Cheers!

Install HA to your new system as normal. Install the Google Backup addon. Restore from the latest backup. Sorted.

So long as you’ve got a backup, HA is very easy to restore to a previous state or new hardware.

TBF most Linux based systems will just boot wherever you stick the drive.

So, you reckon if I just take the SSD out of my current T530, stick it in the new Optiplex, it'll just boot and work? Might give it a go, will save me finding the right Haos image etc... if not, it doesn't sound like it'll take too long to take the new SSD out, flash Haos and install a backup.
