Hi,

Not so much a 'spec me' thread, more of an 'advise me' thread, but any specs that come up are welcome.
Is anything I'm planning cumbersome or excessive? Or are there any ways I can achieve the same effect cheaper or more efficiently?

Right, I'm thinking about setting up the audio in a new place. I already use my iPhone to control iTunes on the PC via Apple remote when I'm listening to music.

The plan is to have three Airplay speakers, all linked to a dedicated iTunes 'PC' that I'll stash behind the TV or something.
The iTunes PC would be always on so low power, very low noise is essential.

Was thinking that for the iTunes PC itself I'd use one of these with a 256 gig SSD. It's not going to do anything but iTunes and maybe streaming video from the web.
I'll attach that to the main TV in the living room via HDMI so I can watch any movies/video podcasts etc I have in my library.
I'll also have my iPhone dock attached to it for backing up and syncing my iPhone.

I'll have an Airplay speaker in the kitchen, one in the living room and one in my bedroom.
I'll also have an Apple TV hooked up to the TV in my room.

Am I right in thinking that with the iTunes PC always on, then using my iPhone as the remote I'll be able to stream anything in my library to any speaker in the house, and I'll be able to stream multiple things, for example music to the kitchen and a podcast to the bedroom both at the same time?
