is it possible to fit a home cinema into a storage unit from a company like Access or Big Yellow Box? There units seem perfect to put a projector, speakers and sofa in! Would they frown upon it? Is it even legal?

I think your problem might be power. Also the place isn't really geared up for residency like that, so there may be implications with insurance and fire regs.

I have no room at my place (Im building an A320 cockpit) so am looking at options on where to put it as I need about 6m x 6m space.

putting it in there for storage?

then yeah that's fine.

putting it in there to use as a home cinema, then please put the crack pipe down.

either buy a bigger house or sell it if you don't have the space for it currently or build an extension or convert a garage or build another floor on top of the garage or do a loft conversion.

a cheap loft conversion could be done for like £1-2K if you have mate's in the trade or know what your doing and do most of it yourself.

Unfortunately I rent a studio flat so a loft or garage conversion is not possible. I've been looking into renting workshop spaces which are around £1000/month + business rates.

Most houses are out of my price range. I'm looking for somewhere less then £500/month. Even if I moved and lived there most rooms are too small unless I start knocking down walls which in a rented house is a no-no. And if i was renting I doubt i would be allowed a garage conversion

personally i think just getting a large plasma and a soundbar is the best way to go, yes it's not the same thing, but throwing away hundred's of pounds a month on renting another property to house a home cinema is quite frankly ridiculous especially when you cannot even afford to buy a home.

hopefully you get your priorities sorted sooner rather than later.

The money spent on this crap could go towards renting a house above the 500 budget you set.

imagine knowing someone like this in real life and he tells you about how he's just bought a home cinema, projector, proper amp and speaker setup, etc.

and your very jelly.

then you decide to pop round to his gaff one day and are like wtf? where's your home cinema, then he explains how we need to take a 15 minute drive to the local storage units, where it's cold, damp and quite frankly disgusting in order to enjoy watching the blu ray you brought round.
