I all,
I'm building a nas out of some old and new PC parts I have, I would like to go wireless as the nas will be I a different room. The question I have is wireless good enough to stream 1080p? I have an asus rt-n56u router and would need a wireless card for the nas, if so what's a good one? Only going though a couple of plaster board wall on the same level.
Don't really want to go wired but if its the only way then so be it...
Thanks for reading.

Depends on the bitrate.

The manufacturers out there who have succeeded with this (Airties, Atlona etc.) all bank on 5ghz wireless to provide the bandwidth required for 1080p video. But to an extent you are right in that a lower bit rate 1080p video will be more likely to stream successfully on 2.4ghz, but for a desirable bitrate 1080p video you will need a 5ghz wireless network. Imho.
