I’m going to setup a very small home NAS for backing up photos and small video clips.

To keep the price down i have a FM2 system I don’t use with 2x Samsung 1Tb drives, what would be the best way to set this up please?

My idea is to run the OS on a small SSD I have from a Sata card then use the onboard sata ports to raid the 1Tb drives, is this the best way without having to get a Raid card? Thanks :)

Run the mechanical drives in RAID1 - you'll only have 1TB of storage space, but the data will be mirrored protecting you if one drive dies. The motherboard supports this so no need for the extra card.
