There is no need to use the Pro models for ‘standard’ PoE support. Since August 2016 all Unifi APs have supported both 24V and 48V PoE. You can use non-Unifi components with the APs but they are designed to work as one holistic system and that means spending the money to do it.
 
Correct. They work fine with ADSL. BT supplied these units before the Home Hub 4 became the standard.
They only ever provided them for their FTTC connections.

Even the HH1 had an internal modem capable on connecting to their ADSL connections so there was no reason for any separate modem.
 
Then if it’s less hassle for the OP, use a Draytek Vigor 120 instead. As long as you buy the one that says ADSL in the title, the BT modems work fine.
