I have an Asus Dual-Band AC Router and was wondering what the best set-up would be:

This is current layout
Modem->Router->Switch->Devices

Would I be better off connecting my NAS directly to the router or the switch?
In terms of speed and performance should I connect all four of the routers gigabit ports to the switch or just one? I've seen both but usually only for connections directly to a PC.

Assuming a normal unmanaged consumer switch then one connection to everything, (router, PCs, NAS, etc).

Connect the NAS to the switch, (whilst the routers ports also appear to be gigabit as well putting the NAS on the switch means that any wired traffic between the PC and the NAS won't then have to touch the router)
