Some guidance if somebody wouldn't mind.
I have a Netgear D6200 ADSL router on Utility Warehouse and to extend around the house, have 2 TP-Link WPA4220 wifi extenders, linked to the router by power line ethernet (one plug by the router).
The internet connection keeps dropping out and it looks like from the router statistics screen that it is only ever showing a few minutes since startup. I assume this means that for some reason it's rebooting and I have seen it reboot too. It also doesn't seem much different when I connect my Mac via ethernet rather than wifi.
But also occasionally, I seem to struggle to see the TP-Link wifi extenders and connect to their status pages. Looking with NetSpot, it seems like the signal strength keeps dropping off intermittently.
Could all these problems be related to the router solely? Is it messing with DHCP settings somehow? The wifi extenders are so far apart that I can't imagine they're interfering with each other and I've changed the channels so they don't overlap. When they connect, they're fine.
I don't really know where to go from here with investigating it. The router definitely seems to be playing up so I thought I might give Netgear a bell, they have no more up to date firmware than I already have. Utility Warehouse is crap but I think consistently crap so can't blame that.
I'd appreciate any advice please. I don't really know an awful lot about networking....
Thanks!
