I have a home pc server (p35 775 chipset), basically it`ll be for streaming data over gigabit network to various devices and pc`s and the odd torrent duties. I have a e6400 c2d chip , and a e3400 daul core celeron. Which chip should i use ? Any benefits from either ?

I guess the celeron will use less power if that's in your interest.
Otherwise I would just use the other one, since you said you are using torrents I would presume it will involve unraring etc the E6400 would be quicker to unrar those.
Flick on power save mode on E6400 and you will have the power you need whenever you need it.

Both are fine

But the word celeron gives me goosebumps so I'm off :p

I`ll admit im was being very lazy in asking which is better chip for a server, when its obvious ...no really it is :D, Thanks anyway ;) worth it to see the rider get goosey !
