Just got a text to my phone that came up as Homebase.
Your order 02############# is now available for collection at tge customer service desk in Sheffield, Drakehouse store.

How does my phone know its from Homebase and I have't ordered anything.

Has someone got my details/ do I ignore it or contact someone

Dear OcUK,

A problem has occurred which could be solved by a simple phone call. What should I do?

Yours sincerely,

Ring Homebase.

Someone might have given out the number incorrectly or it was entered into the system incorrectly if it's not done online. I wouldn't call using a number from the text, if that's even an option, I'd source one from elsewhere, just in case you get through to Homebase, New Delhi.

I'd go and stake out the customer service desk and keep an eye out for anyone looking suspicious - you can normally get a good vantage point from the garden furniture section.

The only option is to go to Homebase, collect the goods, wait outside until someone leaves looking irate, follow them and, well, you know what to do to their letterbox.

That may be sometime as the true owner will never get the text saying their goods are ready for collection. Maybe after a few days, they will contact Homebase to be told that their goods have already been collected.

Yeah i wont be telling him any of the details about the order such as who placed it, This will let me call the customer that actually placed the order and let them know its there and make a note of the incorrect phone number. No need to breach the data protection act to do this.
