I know Freefaller makes his own, but does anyone else make their own? Any suggestions on recipes & nut combinations?

Thanks. :)

Haha! Well remembered! :) I haven't made my own in a while.

I like mixing almonds and peanuts. Roast them for about 8 or so minutes at around 160-180C.

Blend them, I add almond or walnut oil a touch of salt too. You can add some sugar or honey.

It's a balance of what consistency you want. Experiment!

Sounds good. With the consistency is it just a case of how much you blend them? Or does adding extra oil really change things? I've noticed in recipes online that it's only ever a tablespoon or so.

"Nut butter" hahaha.

And Freefaller "makes his own". LOL.

Errrr...

It depends on how oily the nuts are - if they are "old" they tend to be drier. I tend to blend it all first, and then add a little oil to get the consistency I'm after. I like it crunchy rather than smooth.

I don't like using walnuts. However brazil nuts do work well

Only made it a couple of times - bought unsalted, roasted peanuts and threw them in the Vitamix for a minute. Instant grainy peanut butter with nothing added. :) Bugger to clean the blades after though...

Don't worry, I giggled like a kid too when I saw the title.

"FreeFaller makes his own nut butter?! And nob cheese too I bet!", I laughed.

Nah but seriously, this sounds good.

What exactly do you use Nut butter with? Is it for just spreading on bread/toast or does it compliment certain dishes?

I must admit, I was thinking the same. The concept doesn't immediately appeal and an example of what it accompanies well would be great please :)

Nut butter + marmite on hot toast is unbeatable.

Or, with brown sauce and ground black pepper.

Still actually haven't got a blender! Getting sick of eating almonds raw and having bits just randomly appearing hours later. Want to just get a massive spoonful and shove it in my gob! :D

Glad I spotted this, Was just about to order a massive tub of organic stuff from myprotein. Never thought about making my own :o

I think its going to be almonds, peanuts, possibly even flaxseed. blend with Honey.

It'll go perfect with my homemade protein bars :D

I'm thinking 6 scoops of protein powder into the oats, Once prepared slice them in half, A light layer of this nut oil inbetween and sandwich the 2 halves back together.. Yum...Maybe.

6 scoops = 6 bars btw
