Hi people
I already owned a pair of devolo dlan 200 av homeplugs that have always worked great.
I just purchased a pair of tplink 500 av homeplugs to extend my network upstairs but I cant get the 2 makes to interact no matter where in the house I try them?
I was led to believe they were all compatible?
The tplinks have a 'pair'ing button but this only seems to help pair it with the other tplink and not the devolos which dont have a physical button at all.
Firmware is up to date on all?
Any advice appreciated.

Are you sure the Devolo adapters don't have pairing buttons? Exactly what model are they?

You always have the option of installing the software utilities and configuring the encryption codes manually.

Not like this then?

The buttons are used for pairing, encryption and resetting them to factory default.

If there isn't an obvious button, is there a hole for a paper clip? Have you read the instructions? There must be a documented method for adding adapters.

If you want them to work with a different set then it's definitely worth checking that the firmware is up to date. The software utility will update the firmware and do everything the buttons are supposed to.

you might need to install the software for both sets and then manually give them the same password rather than using the pairing buttons.

Thought I should update this thread in case it helps anyone in a similar situation to myself.
Anyway I managed to get the devolo plugs to interact with tplink plugs in the end.
To achieve this I installed the devolo dlan software and managed to add other adaptors by just inputting the security code on the back of the tp link plug.
Thanks for the help and advice on here *thumbs-up*
