I am shamed to say it, but after owning the game for years I have only just got around to playing it after a friend said it was awesome.

And I agree, its great :)

Are there any mods out there that will enhance it further?

Graphically and gameplay wise :)

Is it like The Nexus Jupiter Incident? Ive tried but cant get into it at all. Not like the Homeworld games.

Not played that yet, its basically you have to move to planets and hold planets while building a fleet and defenses to go attack other planets, the more planets you have the more resources you have and then theirs mircomanagement side of it, its very in-depth like.

Having played Sins I don't really think it was that similar to Homeworld, though it was great fun.

Yeah I've played Sins and didn't really get in to it at the time, it is quite a deep game though if I remember.

I am just revisiting old games, got Tacyon the Fringe to play, and I may replay freelancer too :D

Thanks for the suggestions on mods, I'd already found that page skeeter but its a bit like RA2, lots of mods and no idea what's really good or not :)

star wars one is probs the best as been developed the longest.

Point system one is very tactical mod from what i remember.

Get a hold of Cnlpeppers shader mod which i think is included in warlords (sw mod) if not it might be a seperate download but its worth it as it updates the shaders so fx look a lot better.
