Honey (coupon browser extension) scam

Honey were telling people that there were no cheaper discount codes available than the codes they were presenting to you. That is a lie in of itself. Honey were also deliberately not presenting the cheapest codes available which is deception on top of a lie.
I shared my thoughts on that. If it was them swapping better codes so they got the juicier commission then I agree. If it was retailers just hiding codes they didn't want generally available (I think the codes are scrapped from user purchases without your active consent) then I think it's fair enough. Maybe a disclaimer could say you've got the best code you're entitled to etc ..

Me having a different opinion doesn't mean I don't get your point.

Your opinion are that stupid people get what they deserve by being too trusting.

I get it.

There is a fine line between advertiser's bluff and misrepresentation. This crosses the line into misrepresentation which is a legal matter and I expect them to be sued for it.

It's a free browser add-on that only knows what it knows. How can anyone be so stupid to think a free add-on knows absolutely every code on the entire internet? Most of which you weren't the intended audience for in the first place lol. Race to the bottom and you're in prime driving position

You still don't get it. Just because someone is foolish or naive, doesn't mean they deserved to be deceived. Someone who normally would go find codes for every transaction now stopped doing so because of this extension and now are losing out, just because they are naive.

(Yes, I cut and paste myself, because we are going round in circles)

So you really thought it would know every code in the world? Link to where they make this claim pls

P.s. the actual TOS of these codes is that they are incentives to buy. If you're already in checkout and searching for them, you're technically the crook

I am not that naive, but it doesn't change the fact that what it says.

They allow retailers to block certain codes from being available through Honey, in order to shape customer experience on the premise that they're getting "the best" codes available, when the exact opposite is true. Just watch the video for god's sake.

You are looking foolish here because it is all explained in the video. Have you noticed there is NOBODY else is taking your stance here?...because they all have watched it and understand what is going on.

Which I can understand given the codes are scraped and the retailer may not intend those codes for general consumption.

These are the type of people that need to be protected imo.

Honestly lockers just give up, the damage is done. You've comprehensively made yourself look a bit thick here by engaging in a discussion about things that were revealed in a video, that you refuse to watch.

It's like turning up to a horse race and trying to compete on foot.

Just give it up mate, there's a reason nobody's taking your corner.
