OK I will try and explain...
The first thing I did was cut off the very thin piece around the outside. You know? the retaining lip that would keep it in, and not pop out the back. That squeaked like a mouse lmao. I also slipped, going into the thick outer wall. It was that outer wall that was too big. TBH, if it had fitted inside it would fit outside, if that makes any sense. Obviously I could not trim that with a knife, as it is raised and not very big in the first place. So, literally the only piece of it that wasn't perfect for what I needed was that. And sadly that was the part I struggled with, as the only thing I could think of doing was belt sanding it. And that was when it melted.
But I grabbed an old USB stick and etc and EVERYTHING was perfect dude. Like, not one socket was not in perfect alignment.
TBH? if you have an empty case you can actually do that part. Like, measure the IO cut out. I just need it to drop in there. I can then put double sided tape under it here...
And then use the antenna to hold it in at the top. TBH had I not banana-d it it would have been fine. But like you said, it doesn't like heat LOL
