Honeycomb and Flash

Hey guys,

One of the major reasons i want to buy a honeycomb tablet is to use my (flash) website when with clients, allowing them to use the online ordering system and go through photos etc.

When in a spicy electronics shop yesterday I had a play with both the iconia and the motorola xoom tegra2 tabs, and the flash rendering is absolutely horrific! Is there a possibility that this was because of their net connection? All the text looked fine etc but any images were MASSIVELY pixelated.

My website is:

http://www.twilight-photography.co.uk

Can someone try this on their honeycomb tab and tell me if it looks just as shocking? If so, are there any settings anywhere that can be changed to make it better? It needs to be perfect really else it completely loses the point of having a tab for me.

Thanks,

Tom.

Was it just the quality? Or did it render slowly?

Some of the demo models may not have the latest flash installed, I haven't heard anyone complain about the flash and your site runs flawlessly on my DHD.

Either way though there may be a few usability issues when using on a touch screen such as scrolling, I would recommend doing a few slight tweaks. :-)

there is pixelation

i'm using froyo samsung galaxy tab, not exactly honeycomb. but close. its unoticable if ur using small screens.

i remember early gpu assisted firefox beta do this as all the content is handled by the gpu.

i suppose its the price to pay for running flash smoothly on low clocked cpus

Just tried it on my Asus Transformer, and its coming up pixelated for me as well. Looks like its to do with the scaling, since the detail itself is there, just the edges are bad.

I had to install 10.2 from the market because it didnt actually have it.

There is no option on the site to fix the resolution :(

Using DDMS screen capture.

I get pixellation on Galaxy Tab running froyo + flash 10.2.

Gonna revert to 10.1 and see what happens.

edit: still pixelated

Did you build the site yourself?

It should be fairly easy to fix the resolution. Just change the table widths from percentages to pixel values.

No, and I don't have flash :(

Looks FAR better in those screen shots, will that flash build work with tegra2?

Cheers guys,

Tom.
