We've been looking to find a suitable honeymoon destination which isn't going to cost half of what our wedding cost last year. Some travel agency we looked through (window shopping) was asking for silly money and we have a budget roughly of 2k/2.5k per person maybe for 7-10 days all inclusive. For me I want to go to a resort where I can go to various resturants at a venue and choose anything off the menu (a la carte) style and not worry about prices. We're not big drinkers so food is more important at the moment.
She happy with whatever even if its a lazy kinda resort next to the poolside for a couple of hours in the day and maybe we can do our own exploring or go into a near by city.

We are looking to go before the Easter as her son will be in GCSE revision and exams and its been suggested Turkey is good value for what it is. I've kinda swayed towards Dubai at the moment as it seems to tick most of the boxes for us. Dubai is an international hub and can cater to multicultural tastes and going at that time of the year is warm but not scorching hot. Turkey on the other hand in Jan - March is 15 degrees max?
I dont want to go far east as a large percentage of cost is going towards the flights.

Anyone have been to any other countries or suggestions that fit my bill? We're not well travelled so something almost like a Airport to resort transport is ideal if possible. And yeah Adults only if possible please.

Thanks

We went to Split, it was lovely. We were early season so it wasn't too crowded, the food and wine were amazing, beautiful architecture. Hired a little boat and explored around a bit too.

Cape Verde?

There is not much outside of the resorts of Cape Verde. We did the Melia Dunas in one of their villas and it was excellent. But like i say, it's a small island and outside the 5* resorts it was like Afghan in places.

Olu Deniz, Turkey is great for outside dining and sight seeing, not sure as a honeymoon destination, but you will definitely get more for your money.

Dubai, expensive and fake, but if you've never been it's worth one visit at least!

Maldives, Bali, Seychelles, Domincan, Barbados, Mexico, Dubrovnik etc.

We mixed ours up a bit and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We started with a night in Paris eating at the home of a former French MasterChef winner then flew to Milan the next day where we spent a week in Menaggio, Lake Como.
We then flew to Majorca and spent a further week in Alcudia Old Town.
It was amazing and we ate at some superb restaurants.

Edit - didn't see the time of year you wanted to go, apologies.

I don't think I paid much more than that to do South Africa (Boschendal / Franshoek) and then a hop to Mauritius.

Food in SA is amazing and dirt cheap.

If you know the specific week then you could always try for something last minute. Whilst it was ~12yrs ago now. We got 2 weeks in the Maldives for around 2.5k each as a last minute deal. Whilst i'm sure prices are more now we paid around half of what it would've usually cost.

Otherwise for decent weather you're potentially looking at the Caribbean. I know our initial plans were for a few days in Havana and then retiring to a beach hotel resort which would've given you a bit of culture along with the relaxing bit. Our plans only changed because the pope was visiting Havana the week we'd be there and it would've overtaken everything!

Beat me to it. Currently in SA and think it's going to be our favourite holiday so far. Stunning country especially Cape Town and surrounding areas, not ready to come back to the frost of the UK.

@Schizophonic If food is your thing, Cape Town definitely worth a shout. It's full of a great places to eat and drink, a good amount of which have stunning views. And the prices out here are good to dirt cheap.

The only thing is I don't think Cape Town is really geared towards a resort type holiday, I'm sure that kind of things exists here - I just haven't seen them. But the city has various clusters (eg if you stayed in a hotel/apartment in the V&A area) of shops/restaurants/bars that can offer a similar type of thing.

Sandals Barbados, try to get a room with swim up, food amazing and top shelf drinks on tap
No chance he's going to get there with a budget of £2-2.5k?!

OP - I'd just pop your duration and number of people going into TUI, adjust your budget and see what's available. Mexico will be good if you're after nice weather.

I'm getting married at the beginning of May, and we have planned a trip (7 nights) that will take us from Vienna to Milan and then to Lake Garda. We worked with a local travel agent to organize the trip, which included flights, transfers, and hotels, and it cost us about £3,500.

Although these destinations aren't once-in-a-lifetime experiences, we had initially planned to visit Vienna for our first holiday together in March 2020, shortly after we met in November 2019. However, due to the Covid pandemic in 2020-2021, we could not go. Since then, life has gotten in the way, and we haven't had a holiday together because we've had our dogs and horses to care for.

While we could have spent more money to travel to some more exotic locations, we had to stick to a tight budget.

Mauritius should tick all boxes.

The resorts are nice but the rest of the island is questionable. Nice scenery but I wouldn’t be exploring the cities much personally…

The Maldives are an amazing destination on any budget - bit of a long flight (Emirates go via Dubai if you wanted a night there maybe) and then a boat/plane transfer to your resort but there are thousands to choose from. Constant 30 degrees all day/night all year round and some amazing animals to see underwater.

My video, and yes it really does look like that.

What's questionable about the rest of the islands and the city?
