I'm going to be getting married next September and I'm trying to come up with a decent place for a honeymoon.

We were originally looking at Dubai but its working out too expensive for our budget of £2000-£2500
We dont want a normal destination like Spain, France etc. Ideally we want something different, hence the reason we were looking at Dubai. Now thats worked out too expensive we're looking at Mexico now.

Does anyone have any decent recommendations for late September - early October. Between 7 - 10 days

Disney World. We went there for our Honeymoon and had a fantastic time. Just been back for out 10th Anniversary with the kids which made it even more special.

All depends on what kind of holiday you want,

Do you want to chill on a beach for a week or go out everynight and get ****ed (not my kind of holiday)

Me and the GF went round the world last year check here for ideas: Thailand is amazing for the being on a beach for a week.

Same, neither of us are into the kind of holidays where you get ****ed every night, would rather a relaxing break or a location where there is a lot of stuff to see

Marrakech?

Loads of great resort hotels set in beautiful gardens. Cheap for what you get compared to a lot of places, plus flight costs are minimal (~£200 on BMI from Heathrow). Lots to do, desert excursions, old towns, lots of activities or just chill. Still nice and warm in September and no time difference so no jet lag.

Mexico will be nice I guess but full of Americans and all that brings.

Ever thought of delaying honeymoon and doing it a different time of year as that may allow you to do something you wouldnt have done otherwise? My wife and I delayed our honeymoon from autumn to early spring so that we could go husky sledding in Algonquin park in Canada, and it was the most amazing experience ever. We did take a short break in the UK immediately after our wedding also

We're getting married this December, planning on going to Bruges between Xmas and New Year and then something later on when we have more money (our wedding was brought forward a lot so we're struggling to pay for that as it is)

we went to Play del Carmen in Mexico in september. Was amazing, cant recommend it enough.

Stayed here: http://www.realresorts.com/The_Royal_Playa_Carmen/

Was for 2 weeks, all inclusive. Went a trip into the jungle for 4 days to look at the Mayan ruins, went swimming with whale sharks. The best thing was there wasn't that many Americans.

that does look impressive and I'd love to get an excursion where could go and see the Mayan ruins. Did you book it direct or through a travel agents??

how did you get on with september weather wise? - did you go early or late september?
