Honeymoon Suggestions....

Not unless your idea of relaxed honeymoon is driving round dusty pot holed tracks for hours and hours. (was a fantastic experience though, just not really honeymoon material)

I know for our Honeymoon, we would both like to do a Kenyan Safari over anything. There are relaxing parts to it too. You could always do a split holiday. Nice hotel first week, safari the next week.

I've never been abroad. Mainly due to the fact I know I could not stand bumming around a beach all day doing naff all. I'd need a couple of sawn off shotguns and some grenades to keep me entertained. Get rid of those ironic "It" girls and worthless Kevs :D

Same here, Ive never been to Majorca or other "popular" destinations, not my thing.

My Dad lives and works out in Nairobi, and we went over there this time last year. We went down to the coast near Mombassa (Diani Beach), was a good 6 hour drive but a great experience too :D and stayed right on the beach at a great little hotel (I say hotel but it was only 10 bungalow style rooms). Beach was very nice, the only problem was all the local guys kept coming up to you and wouldnt leave you alone, trying to sell you stuff etc. Got to the point where they would wait by the water for you to come out to speak to you...

Then me and the gf went on a week long safari to Samburu park, we booked a tour bus (it was actually only us 2 in there :p) and we had to drive all over the place, went to lake Baringo, Nakuru etc, was fantastic but a lot of travelling. Would recommend 2 weeks to do it otherwise you are rushing around each day trying to get to the next place.

It was a fantastic experience, all the better that my Dad lives there and knew where to go etc.

Driving through the shanty towns really is an eye opener and makes you feel quite lucky to be living the way we do.

I went on my honeymoon last year to the Dominican Republic, we stayed at the Iberostar Costa Dorada hotel and it was fantastic. we swam with dolphins. it would be within your budget. we payed about that and upgraded the flights with first choice. i'll happily share more details with you if your interested.

if you want all inclusive then we have stayed there too and agree it is an excellent place

I stayed at the punta cana princess and that was superb. Trip advisor is a good place to search for reviews. The trouble with the dominican review wise, is a lot of yanks go there. They turn up to a third world country and complain that the foods not upto 'american' standards. Or the portions are too small in the restaurants. Or they get a dose of the trots and think al qaeda are poisening them.
