Hood for Nikon 18-55 lens?

Which kind of hood should I be using?

Rubber one
Metal one
Metal (wide angle)
Petal
Genuine (most expensive sort)

Really not sure!

I never really used one on my 18-55, but as it's a 52mm thread, you could get the rubber hood - it works on the Nifty Fifty too, which is what I keep on.

I use a plastic copy of the genuine one, works fine.

At the widest angle, do you get any shadow from the hood? That was the only reason I considered a rubber one, so it could be retracted if needs be
