My Panasonic TH-50PZ80B arrived today.... OMGWTFBBQ!!! It's a bit huge, lol. Love it already though. I also received a Panasonic blueray player. Now my problem is that my amp (Yamaha Yamaha RX-V 640 RDS) doesn't have HDMI sockets, so im going HDMI>TV for the picture, but optical>amp for the sound. I also only have 2 KEF IQ9s in stereo at the moment, so am I right in thinking that the Bluray player should be set to output PCM, downmixed to stereo? If so, what should the amp be set to? At the moment it is set tp Pro Logic Enhanced which sounds pretty good, but is right?

Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS ES Discrete 6.1, DTS Neo:6, DTS-ES Matrix 6.1 If that helps.

surely there point less as they require rear speakers at a minimum... how about just plain old stereo...theres a little button on the front press it

bullit

thst is your surround modes. Straight is when you don't have any of them turned on. (but if it detects, say a DD signal when on straight it will decode as DD and probably display that.
