Hooking up old HD...

After running this rig for almost a year now, my Samsung Spinpoint 250GB is approaching 50% free space. I still have my previous Samsung, a 120GB sat in the tower though un-hooked... I'm wondering how I would go about adding the 120 GB, considering that it's got a previous copy of XP on, I'm unsure if the two drives would conflict and one or both would screw over and corrupt. Would it be possible to look through my old HD, retrieve any files, wipe and then hook it back in? :)

Should be fine to connect it, providing that the BIOS is set to boot from the Spinpoint. You can then transfer across anything you need, wipe it and mount it permanently.

So far so good! I've hooked it up via IDE ((old drive)) and it's sat in Slave. I've booted up fine and it's appeared in My Computer. However I cannot navigate the files on the drive, I'm being asked to format it first. :o
