Hey guys, I'm a bit angry at my new PC at the moment
I had purchased 3 250gb western digital drives to do RAID0 with, install them in the new build and everything, then when I have to use my floppy drive to create the files needed to reinstall XP on the new RAID HD's, guess what happens!?
My Floppy drive starts giving out smoke, I quickly shut everything off and now it turns out my floppy has passed on to the afterlife :( .
I now have to get a new floppy drive tomorrow, plus new disks and a cable, I was soo looking forward to my new build :( .

i dont know if someone can explain why floppy tends to burst into flames as i have had one do it and so has my friend - that took his whole machine out!

Hmmm, looks like the damage was worse than I thought.
After getting a new floppy drive + a new cable (old one was melted), I start everything up again to try and do RAID again, unfortanetely my MB has suffered damage and now refuses to start up.
I hadn't even planned on buying a new MB untill summer but it looks like I have to fork out for a new one  .

Pathetic isn't it. They don't even stick floppy drive's in most PC setups now. For vista you can use the other drives now thank god!

Which other drives u mean?
Just orderd my vista home premium OEM today as Asus (praise them!) have told me they will send me a replacement MB, even though it wasn't their hardware that was faulty. :p
Guess me crying on the phone got the better of them
