Hoping a hard drive expert can help!

Last time I reinstalled XP Pro, I had to do it numerous times before it completed, and I've lost nearly half of the space on my drive. It's now showing as 127GB instead of 250GB (or thereabouts). I just don't know where this space has disappeared to, and how I can recover it, if at all.

Any suggestions?

You need to have at least SP1 integrated into the install CD to allow more than 127Gb to be accessed by the installer.

The space hasn't disappeared, it's just not allocated. If you go into Disk Management (right click on My Computer and pick Manage, then Disk Management from the left hand tree) you'll see a graphical representation of the disk with the C: drive to the left and the unallocated space to the right. You can either create a new partition in the space in Disk Management or use Partition Magic to extend the existing C: drive into the empty space.

download XPSP2, copy your xp disc to c:\xpcd, install .net framework 2.0, install nlite

use nlite to slipstream sp2 into xpcd, then create a new iso with nlite and burn the iso as an image with imgburn or nero
