Horizontal ripple effect on screen

Hi guys,

Any ideas on why I got horizontal ripple effects on screen? Darker and lighter horizontal bands . Not pixel shifting or tearing.

a video is here

My card is EVGA GTX680 Signature 2. New card, just bought it.

1. Only appears in games. It shows up in Skyrim and Crysis2.
2. It disappears when I save the game (FPS is low during game saving, I believe).
3. The card is connected to a 1080p HD projector using VGA cable via DVI-VGA adapter.
4. When using HDMI port it seems to be fine.
5. My old GTX 550Ti doesn't have this problem. Except the graphics card, all else being the same.
6. I've tried with VSYNC on/off and Adaptive VSYNC + 301 and 304 Beta drivers. All make no difference.
7. I've tried with different VGA cables and PCIe power cables, no difference.

Any one seen this before? Faulty card? Unfortunately because of my setup I have to use VGA instead of HDMI.

UPDATE:
Tried a new PSU with far more Watts. No difference.

Seems like a fairly common case of bad shielding somewhere along the line. I've seen this plenty of times out in the field with devices connected via VGA.

If it worked fine with your old card, and you've obviously eliminated all other ideas then the only options you have left are -

A: Use a digital port,

B: Try a ferrite ring at the source of interference

or

C: Ask for a refund

Thanks. Would you please elaborate more on the ferrite ring method?
Put it on PCIe power cable ? PSU mains cable?

I tried putting a clip-on ferrite ring on the PCIe power cable. Unfortunately it doesn't reduce the ripples problem.

The ferrite ring buzzes like crazy when the ripple effect is shown.

Does it mean I need a better PSU?

Why don't you try DVI- Hdmi, You can try an adapter first, sounds like the projector does not like analogue inputs, could be an issue with it's internal converter
