Horrible Lag

Hi there. I recently made the swap to a Wireless network but im experiencing really high pings in WoW [around 700ms, used to be around 50ms on the wired network (got 4mb cable)] I heard that going wireless wouldnt be quite as fast as a wired one, but 700ms compared to 50ms before?

Anyone know what could be causing it and anyways of sorting it?

My router is Linksys WRT54GS.

PS: My internet browsing doesnt seem as bad, its just when your trying to play an online game its really anoying to have such bad pings

If you know the IP address of the game server you play on, do a traceroute, and you'll be able to find out where the lag starts.

If the first hops across your lan are laggy, then you will have to fix them yourself, if the lag occurs elsewhere, all you can do is complain to your ISP and see if they can sort out the problem.
