Ive had this issue since my gigabyte X58 UD4P board and its carried over to my asus sabertooth x58 board. Im using the intel controller which is set to AHCI and AS SSD shows that my allignment is okay.

Ive tried letting the controller use MSACHI driver, i've tried different versions including the latest intel RST driver and nothing has helped. The drive did at one point work as expected with no slow downs after i applied a fix found here -> http://forum.notebookreview.com/sol...-series-4-5-965-chipsets-stamatisx-tweak.html <- This was while running windows 7.

I then installed Windows 8 Release Preview, applied the fix in the link above and the drive continued to work as it should. I then had to reinstall my win 7 platform due to problems with some games and now the fix doesnt work any longer for me which makes me believe it may never have :( .

Transfering any sort of large file over 200mb makes it tank horrible.

CrystalDiskMark Here

Specs:
Core i7 920 @ 3,8ghz well cooled
Asus Sabertooth X58 @ latest bios of this post
Kingston ssdNow 100 Value 64gb @ latest firmware
Using Intel Sata chip for the drive in ACHI Mode
Latest intel RST drivers as of this post.
Windows 7 Home premium x64

This is becoming very odd. Somehow the ssd is now working as it should. I can transfer to it @ 100-135 megs/s but now my raid0 on my marvell controller and my backup samsung spinpoint f1 on my intel controller (same as my ssd) are stuck at a write speed of 35 megs/sec.

Edit:
Solved the issue. Reflashed my bios with the one that came with the board(rev 1304) and reinstalled everything from scratch and now it seems to be working. Lost of a lot of data (entire steam folder among other things) but no biggie thats what 100mb internet is for. For those of you who are running a sabertooth x58 board from asus i would stay away from the rev 1402 bios i think its called, it made my system go poop.
