Ive had this issue since my gigabyte X58 UD4P board and its carried over to my asus sabertooth x58 board. Im using the intel controller which is set to AHCI and AS SSD shows that my allignment is okay.
Ive tried letting the controller use MSACHI driver, i've tried different versions including the latest intel RST driver and nothing has helped. The drive did at one point work as expected with no slow downs after i applied a fix found here -> http://forum.notebookreview.com/sol...-series-4-5-965-chipsets-stamatisx-tweak.html <- This was while running windows 7.
I then installed Windows 8 Release Preview, applied the fix in the link above and the drive continued to work as it should. I then had to reinstall my win 7 platform due to problems with some games and now the fix doesnt work any longer for me which makes me believe it may never have
.
Transfering any sort of large file over 200mb makes it tank horrible.
