Was just driving home from town and I heard a noise like a police siren, could see a police car but when I put the clutch in on my car it stopped :(

I am wondering what in earth has happened and I fear maybe the turbo has gone :(

The car is a VW Touran 06 plate that has done 65k it's a 1.9tdi

The mrs is due at work in 1 hour. Can she drive it?

There is no power, can't get any speed up, I don't think we should be driving it but she has to be at work.

Is there a temporary fix or anything we can do?

Gutted :(

If it's making a noise that made you think it was a police car, I would think driving it again is not the most sensible course of action to take.

I've got national plus cover on the car so I have called them out to have a butchers. Too scared to drive it.

Could just be something simple like a boost hose split or become detached, but it can also be a symptom of a knackered turbo. Not a good idea to drive it unless you know which it is - if the turbo does let go it can take the rest of the engine with it, either through ingesting bits of turbo or from making the engine run away on it's own engine oil.

Does seem quite a low mileage to have a turbo go though - has it been regularly serviced?

Yeah dude came out and said suspected turbo failure :( he said I can still drive it to the garage as I haven't got anywhere organised for them to tow it to now.

Last thing I need right now when I've just had to give company car back :(

******* **** car :( I could puke lol

If the turbo's failed, I wouldn't want to drive it incase the contents are ingested by the engine..

check hoses from the compresser side of the turbo to the tb. Loss of power with a sort of wistleing noise I'm guessing split or fell off, if it is you can drive but you will that the power of a 50cc moped and no air filter so not really recomended
