is anyone else as bothered as me about this?

Any hose pipe alternatives? water butt?

3 large dogs crap and pee all over my patio every single day. it NEEDS to be hosed down every day. It will be disgusting otherwise and i suspect the smell will not please next door

Water.

Bucket.

Cloth.

You do not "need" to hose it down, you choose to hose it down because it is easier and more conveniant than the alternative.

Not bothered, watered by hand before and will do so again. I might even switch on the watering system once in a while. ;)

I have two 1000 litre IBC's catching the water from the roof and they are rigged to hosepipes.

We did this years ago cause we are on a water meter in order to save money.

Hosepipe ban will not affect me but I will be using a hosepipe ;)

A cheap alternative to a water butt is to get an IBC tank. They hold 1000 litres and cost around £30 on Ebay.

3x 210l water butts.

TBH the ban is stupid, I would use more water washing and rinsing the car by hand, the same goes for gardening using a watering can to fill up from an outside tap.

Probably not going to bother growing any veggies this year if I cant water them but thats about it.

200 litre water butt and 6l watering can - never used a hose. Never really bothered to grow much other than beans or tomatoes though and have a smallish garden.

Maybe take them for a walk and take bags to clear the mess up?
