I want to register a new domain and it point to my root of my hosting and then have my other domain (digiseries.co.uk - which is currently pointing to the root), point to a sub folder on my hosting.

How do i order this new domain? through the hosting company or through a company such as 123-reg?
How do i choose where the domains point to?

Thanks,

Andy

123-reg give you the option to forward your domain to another location. You can do it such that the address bar retains the original URl, or updates to reflect the new option.

With cPanel, you'll need to ask your host to change the main domain on your account to the new domain. You can then use the Addon Domain function in cPanel to point your old domain (digiseries.co.uk) to a sub-directory. :)

I've logged into 123 reg and changed my name servers to my hosting, so now i have to wait for that to come into effect and then add the other domain as an addon, right?

Andy

That should be fine - a lot of hosts will allow you to add the Addon Domain before you've changed the nameservers over too. :)

Mine is saying that i can't put the main domain as an addon in cpanel.

Do i keep the nameservers as they were on that domain or do i change them back to 123reg nameservers?

Andy
