I've been invited to a colleagues wedding reception up in Glasgow on the 27th October. I've my flights booked so all I need is a hotel for the night.

What can you recommend for preferably under £100 for the night? I don't mind spending a bit extra if it keeps me out of the dingy areas.

Ta :)

Which part of Glasgow?

The Carlton George on West George St (cunning name that!) I think has an all you can drink residents bar and is about £90 a night.

All the usual suspects (Hilton, Holiday Inn etc) are represented but no idea of cost. There's a City Inn at next to the SECC that'll probably be reasonable.

The reception is being held somewhere called Bellahouston Park. I'd prefer somewhere within staggering distance or a short taxi ride.
Edinburgh is a bit far for that :p

Nice part of town (seriously!) - House for an Art Lover perchance? It's the south side of town out of the city centre so there's not too much in the immediate locality.

According to autoroute the Swallow Hotel is just round the corner but no idea what it's like. It'll only be a 10-15mins taxi run back into the city centre, you'll get a better choice there.

Could stay in the Radison Hotel which is right next to Glasgow Central Station

Is that the new one on Clyde Street & Jamaica St? Could be quite nice, most of the city centre hotels are getting a bit tired these days.

the malmaison comes in at £100 a night for a double room, and it wonderfuly fantsticly lovely.

swallow hotel is, as has already been said, just a quick jaunt along Paisley road, not a bad place but not gorgeous.

the Raddison as well, is nice and new and lovely. you'll be looking at £5-7 in a black taxi from belahouston into the city centre.

Didn't realise House for an art lover had a hotel section? if so that's in Belahouston park so would probably be the easiest.

girlfriend got us into the Edinburgh Sheraton Grand (5 star) for one night for £90 3 weeks ago, was fantastic, beautiful room, amazing staff etc. was a deal on lastminute.com

Try it for Glasgow, she booked on the tuesday, we were stay on the following friday. Best deal ever, I had a great time ;)

you can have my spare room if you want :)

50 quid a night inc brekkie :)

ladies of the night are a double occupancy charge tho :)

i would vote for the radison its a 5 star hotel and ive stayed there once but been inside their cheapest room and their top penthouse suite a few times, i stayed in the penthouse suite but at £550 a night your better off with their cheaper rooms, i think they start at around £100, my cousin normally gets a room when there's a big party coming up or when he's out clubbing, the radisson is beautiful, the lifts dont have any buttons on the inside and are all glass, you need to press the button outside then walk in, the staff are friendly, but at about £5 a drink you better take your own bottle of vodka and a case of red bull, you do get what you pay for as they say as its a stunning hotel even their cheapest rooms blew my mind when compared with any normal hotel/B&B, the hilton on the other hand is slighly uglier, a lot older, and their top penthouse suite is a third the size of the one in the radisson no idea how much it is for the night tho
