House Alarm

How hard is it to fit one? Looking at the moment and can get TEXECOM RICOCHET PREMIER ELITE 48 for £272.

It sounds like the control box is all hard wired for power, and then the wireless extender makes it "wireless"?

Powering up and learning PIRs, door contacts etc isn't tricky, the trickiest part is setting up the zones on the system (like how a PIR is set up, what conditions will cause an alarm signal, a tamper signal etc). Alarm systems aren't always that clear, certainly not until you get a little familiar with the menu, but like many things, you can figure it out if you're looking for a basic set up. I quite like the Texecom menus but that may just be because that was the first panel I started tinkering about with.

i already have an alarm. i want to add a dialer which works off a sim card. is this possible? i don't have a home phone.

basically if the alarm goes off. i want it to send me plus say another 2-3 numbers a text or call us.

GJD 710, works on 99% of alarm systems as wires into the signal which triggers the bell, (many other zone wiring options too)

I use a Tesco PAYG simcard as £10 credit gets the double up offer turning into £20, and the original credit lasts 6 months without expiry.

Within literal seconds of alarm going off it send out 4 texts to my chosen numbers, then proceeds to ring each number in order, until one of the contacts answers and acknowledges the alarm. You can also listen in when it rings you to see if everything sounds ok, or dial it whenever you want and listen in. (I normally check cams)

It can text and dial upto 9 numbers.

I paid £150 fitted, think the dialler itself is around £100
