House Cleaners

This isnt a lie; I know someone (nearly said friend but hes a douchebag) who works in Singapore who has a cleaning maid for his apartment. She cleans his house for him completely naked for not much extra cash.
Apparently you can get the same service here, but Im not going to try and find out.

we have a cleaner that does our house midweek for a couple of hours, costs about 130 quid a month.

if you're looking for a cleaner, a company will have insurance for accidents, like breakages etc but private one will most likely not..

We had a cleaner 7-8 years ago and paid her £20 for 4 hours of work. One day she was hoovering and hit my original Xbox so hard it broke - I dread to think how hard you'd have to hit one of those to damage it.

My dad had a cleaner up until about 2 years ago, he used to pay her £50 to clean the house and do all his ironing. She was fired after he came home to find a fag burn in his brand new carpet which she claimed was not her, even though no one else had been in the house.

My dads cleaner must have been doing pretty well for herself since she managed to buy herself a brand new 5 series (even in poverty spec I imagine it is more than most cleaners can afford).

It'll depend where in the country you are I suppose, supply, demand and market saturation sort of stuff. £12 an hour probably isn't terribly unreasonable I'd agree based on how I'd value my leisure time but in other areas of the country the rates will doubtless differ.

I'm not entirely sure how much the cleaner who does here gets paid, generally we try to keep the place fairly clean anyway but whatever we are paying it is well worth it.

£15 for a couple of hours - not bad really and definitely worth the money. I'd never look back now - the problem is finding someone you trust to have your keys and come into your home.

Some neighbours of my parents got a attractive live in polish cleaner in as they were too busy working. They are now divorced and he has a young polish fiancee ........
