Come on all you Hugh Lawrie fans, show yourselves!

The show is on par with the greatness of the American show Monk, but i'd expect it'll get better and thus take over as my favourite American import.
 
I thought his accent was a bit suspect at first, but its actually an awesome show. Tried to get the first series on DVD a while ago but it wasnt out, mite go and check now if it is, my student loan is due soon.

I have a few mates that can't seem to get into it however purely on the basis that it's Lawrie! Terribly foolish of them, basically they're ignorant cants.

Its out and available for £15 or £20 .. cant remember which.

This site has a review of each episodes by a M.D, it's funny how close the show get to reality sometimes, but sometimes it just bounce from illness to illness without clause.

I never used to watch it that much until half way through season 2 when a friend told me about it on CH5. So i got season 1 last week and finished it over the weekend, great stuff.

Really really like Lawrie in this he's awesome, I binged on it and watched both series in about a week, I couldn't get over the fact that I knew what would happen but I still REALLY wanted to watch the next one, so addictive :D
I'm up to series 3x03 I think, really love it. Great show although at first I was a bit reluctant to get into it, but I always am - I always try and compare a new TV show to the greatness of the last, now it's The Wire vs House : p
 
Quick question, can any of you basically sum the program up in a few words, I've never seen it and I keep hearing good things about it. :)
 
Hugh Lawrie = very smart, very sarcastic, diagnostic doctor. They get a simple looking-turns-into-crazy-rare patient every episode and usually figure it out and cure him/her.
Good supporting cast, looks good and there are plenty of good lines etc. It's like a serious scrubs, but Dr. House (Lawrie) = Dr. Cox.

The producer calls it a Cop show but its investigating medical puzzles rather than criminal puzzles.

That is the basis of the show but what makes it good is the main characters, especially the lead performance by Hugh Laurie. He tells it like it is, and it's also quite funny too because of that.

2 Med students walks into House's office to present him with a patient's history, House is sitting behing his desk with his leg up and reading a comic drawn by a patient.

Med Student "You are reading a comic."
House "You are wearing a low cut top to attract attention to your bosoms"
Med Student "eh?"
House "I am sorry, i thought we were stating the obvious"
