House M.D.

lol good quotes, is it in anyway supernatural?

Nope, all reality base medical problems/solutions. There are some exaggerations to create drama and for televisions like the timeline it takes for certain test is much shorter, the docs themselves wouldn't do the test themselves or House himself wouldn't do Brain surgery. But the facts a mostly right.

Most of my friends who are doctors or medics dont seem to like the show - maybe its a little too close to the heart.
I love it - it's like our pbl, but with drama :p

So what if there are some inaccuracies, it's hardly a documentary, and gets far more right than say casualty

There's 1 thing i wish they do more thou, character relationship development between the characters. We had Cameron likding House in Season 1 but that's gone, Wilson's buddy friendship with House...thats about it really. As much as like the good dialogue and medical problems/solution i like to see more scenes with them outside medicine.

Couldn't agree more. Then again i think Cameron should flirt with House, consequently getting his hopes up, then knocking him down a peg. After that, have an Xmas party where Cameron gets wasted because she couldn't treat a terminally ill patient and let the House pwnage begin! :o

I'm only halfway through S1 mind.

Why the rolleyes? Thanks for your replies guys, might check this out. :)
Dunno, really. There aren't enough smilies to portray every emotion. That one fitted best. :D

I assume because most are so rare, that most physicians will never see many of the cases.

Though that's what makes the programme. Would be pretty rubbish if a guy comes in thirsty and peeing a lot, diagnosed as diabetic, treated. done. :p

It's true but also his department is specialise in illnesses that is out of the ordinary, like how a 10 year old have an Heart Attack.

The show do try to balance it out by Cutty forcing him to do hours in the Clinic seeing regular illnesses by over-reacted people. Ie. a Guy complaint his hand is numb, solution ? Don't wear his watch so tight. :D

That'd be a classic, mix things up a bit i say. Hell, what with so much versatility in the ranks you could get away with a tongue in cheek slasher one week and a slapstick comedy the next.

Or, that dude who was orange and the diagnosis was his wife was cheating on him due to that fact. :D

I think the Clinic is the best bit of the show sometimes, how he always try to get out of it and the simple diagnosis of the patients.

By the time they get some aspect of the inter-character relationship going, its time for the series to end, and the next one seems to not continue straight on from that point, but rather takes a step back and life goes on.

But all said, its a great show and I will be following it as much as possible.

Whats not to like?!?

Fantastic show, watching series 1 as I type

Even more of a bargain
Free!!

Well it was a present

Its probably the only programme ever where the whole of my family has sat down to watch together

Ok I was wrong in the last thread, but it's definately against the forum rules to discuss tv shows which haven't yet aired in the uk - might want to edit that mate ;)
