House renovation - in what order?

I'm planning a house renovation and having a hard time working out in which order to get things done.

The house needs new radiators throughout; most of the sockets and light switches need moving; all the walls and ceilings will need to be skimmed and skirting, architraves, doors and floorboards will be replaced.

In what order would you do things?

NB. Currently all the walls have been stripped back, new windows are being fitted in the coming weeks and I've got a bunch of new radiators to be fitted - some direct replacements, some are moves and changes.

how about in this order:

- wiring
- plumbing

then once you're sure all pipes and wires have been buried into the walls then

- skimming

- once dried paint possibly first coat or even finish it off bar one final coat?
- architraves, doors and skirtings

last thing would be the floors

that's how I would approach it.

heating (pipework)
electrics (first fix)
floorboards
skimming
heating (fixtures)
skirting/architrave
electrics (second fix)

couple of the above can be swapped around to suit, but heating and electrics groundwork needs to be laid before you start putting new flooring down.

Thanks for all the input - very interesting to read peoples opinions on all of this.

General consensus would seem to be the following order:

1. Electrics/First fix
2. Pipework for plumbing
3. Floorboards
4. Skimming
5. Painting/First coat
6. Skirting/Architrave/Doors
7. Electrics/Second fix
8. Hang radiators

I think that makes sense to me, just need to get it all arranged now...
