Hoverboard

Cool but I bet it would be a sod to ride on. No friction equals no braking.

I assume it would also need skateparks entirely covered in metal to work.

Yes it's sad, but how on earth is this any different to someone walking, using a skateboard or riding a bike being dragged under a bus?

Tragic loss of a young life. :( How many more reasons do they need to ban these things.

They're already banned from public places.

I don't see why the should be banned outright. If people want to use them on their own property then that's should be fine.

This X a billion

Get a grip nanny state police.... The fact he was on a hover board is inconsequential.

They really arn't hoverboards. They are just another version of a segway.

I just hope that parents use this tragic accident to explain to the kids why they should not be used anywhere near the road. Things that are human powered are different but still a risk. Anything that pulls power from a battery to drive motors always poses a higher risk of losing control. Even old people on mobility scooters can end up going on main roads by mistake. Kids are more fearless and its more about educating than banning.

Need a apology from all hover board owners and the company that makes them!

It's not the owners or manufactures fault some one chose to ignore the law and died from it

The parents should have been more sensible and told him not to use it in a public place.

While it's sad, it was completely avoidable.
