Is it just me who is completely confused by this advertising on Hovis?

For those of you without magic corrective vision, it says
THE ONLY
MAJOR BREAD
BRAND* WITH

NO ARTIFICIAL PRESERVATIVES
NO ARTIFICIAL FLAVOURS
*ACROSS ALL HOVIS BREADS

Why would you want to advertise that all of your other bread contains artificial preservatives and ingredients? Does hovis have some meaning that doesn't mean Hovis the company or are they just mad?

If anyone really wants I can post it with a loaf of bread to prove it's real ;)

I think they mean brand as in all hovis loaves are artificial free, yet any other bread/products made under different labels aren't. other wise someone would try suing them, because some random biscuit made by the company has artificial something or other in it.

They are saying that all Hovis branded bread is free from artificial preservatives + flavour, and that no other major manufacturer can claim the same.

It's really not that complicated.

British Bakeries own Hovis and their other bread brands (Mothers Pride and Nimble) are rubbish so why not promote your major brand with something your competitors haven't got?:)

thank you for clearing that up. The wording is ambiguous :p

To me "the only major bread brand across all hovis breads" sounds like it means that just the hovis square bread is free of artificial ingredients

The key word there is 'brand' imo. If it said product or something similar then what you are thinking now would be correct, but as it stands that will probably be the same label which is put on all hovis branded bread.

Is anyone else fed up of food products telling you they have 'this' or contain no trace of 'that' without stating any benefits? I feel sorry for the exploited 'ethical and concious' consumer.

Hey, it has Omega 3 in it, it must be good ;)
