Well the microphone on my PC161 headset has given up as it got tangled round my foot and i got up, i reckon the wire has broke to the microphone however the headset still works to the headphones. I'm guessing that there is no easy way to fix it and i don't want to dismantle my headset and void my warranty so its about time to get a replacement.

Has anyone used their service before and if so how long does it usually take for them to send the replacement from Sennheiser (i bought them in November) and how would i package the pair I'm sending back?
(i have still got the plastic case that they came in)

As Dyson says, I seriously doubt that you'd be able to pass off a breakage like that as simply a fault. Unless you can prove that it was already damaged when you received it...

Found it.

The Sennheiser guarantee applies subject to the product being handled properly for its intended use

Oh dear, but since it is for being handled for the intended use, i thought i read somewhere that they were designed to take a lot of damage at LAN parties etc (not that ive been to any).

Doubt you will have much luck but it can't hurt to try, they are normally pretty helpful in my experience although this has typically been when dealing with their pro-audio people.

I really don't think they would consider having the cord wrapped around your foot and subsequently being yanked upon 'intended use'. Would be no different than if they slipped off your head and you rolled over them with your chair.

As Wij mentioned though, it's at least worth a try.

how you got on

let me know how you got on because my left earpiece has stopped working and i might need to RMA my own headset, how do i go about it, whats their e-mail

I remember a 2year warranty being mentioned

It's not physically broken on the outside? Then it just stopped working and you don't know what happened.

Well you didn't break it so it should be covered.
