How Bad are my Line Stats?

Can someone have a look at the below and see if there is an obvious problem. I am with Be and my connection speed is horrible, it used to be much better but has slowly got worse over time, they have dropped my 'speed profile' as I was seeing disconnects. Are these stats really bad? Would I be better with another ISP? They tell me i'm over 4km from the exchange...

if thats on ADSLmax then somert is a miss on your line

as the SNR is very high.

if that SNR was dropped to 6/9 you should atleast see 2 to 3mb speeds

High attenuation suggests long line. Lots of errors, 27 losses of sync in 48 hours is pretty bad, resulting in your noise margin target being upped [hence low sync rate] to try and stop the disconnections.

I reckon you need to get an engineer out to test your line. Or try a new filter. what's the voice line like? Any crackles or hissing?

Thanks guys, according to that site i'm only 2.4km from the exchange...This is supposed to be up to 24meg...Could it be my line that's the prob? Will I be able to get a BT engineer to come out? The voice line is fine but I will try a new filter to see

Well thats directly to the exchange, however it all depends on how far the actual line goes. Something to do with the local loop I think. Basically your line could go 1km in the opposite way only to then come back on itself to connect to the exchange. So it's only really an idea of the distance.

I'm not sure if you would be able to get an engineer to come out, not really sure if they do send anyone out unless there is a problem on the actual voice part of the line e.g. cracking on the phone. You could always try to phone your ISP and ask them to see if they know anything about sending an engineer out. :)

Take the faceplate off the BT master socket (just two screws on the front) and plug the ADSL filter and router/modem directly into the test socket behind the faceplate. This will elimiate any stray noise from any extensions you may have and gibe you your "maximum" sync possible..

Thanks guys, I didn't notice that in the stats above I was connected at only 203kbps down, I guess Be were having a rough few days as although not brilliant it's much much better now.
